About
Also known as: ATC
Against the Current built their early fanbase the old fashioned internet way, posting YouTube covers in collaboration with established creators like Kurt Hugo Schneider and Alex Goot. That grassroots hustle paid off fast for the Poughkeepsie trio of vocalist Chrissy Costanza, guitarist Dan Gow, and drummer Will Ferri, who went from self releasing their debut EP Infinity in 2014 to signing with Fueled by Ramen within a year. Their first full album, In Our Bones, landed in 2016, the same year they played Warped Tour, and Alternative Press dubbed it pop rock perfection. The band's reach expanded well beyond the rock world when Riot Games tapped them to write Legends Never Die for the 2017 League of Legends World Championship, a collaboration they revisited in 2022 with the esports anthem Wildfire. Their second album Past Lives marked a deliberate shift toward pop territory, with Costanza telling Billboard the band wanted to shed their skin and finally go in the direction they had always wanted. After parting ways with Fueled by Ramen in 2022, ATC went independent and kept the momentum going with a string of singles and a Nightmares and Daydreams World Tour.
