About

Alain Clark has a knack for blending pop melodies with R&B instincts in a way that feels effortless rather than calculated. The Haarlem born Dutch singer, songwriter and producer broke through properly with his 2007 English language album Live It Out, recorded with legendary drummer Steve Gadd, which sold close to 200,000 copies and produced the massive hit "Father and Friend", a duet with his father Dane Clark, a soul singer who fronted Dane and the Dukes of Soul. That family connection gave the track an emotional weight that clearly resonated with listeners. His 2010 follow up Colorblind debuted straight at number one and went double platinum, cementing his status in the Netherlands. He kept busy as a producer too, crafting tracks for Ali B, Simon and Dutch TV shows like Idols and Popstars: The Rivals. Later albums including Generation Love Revival, Walk With Me, Bad Therapy and Sunday Afternoon show he has never stopped writing and releasing music, moving between soulful pop and funkier territory depending on the mood.
