As Everything Unfolds started out in 2013 as an acoustic duo between Alex Paton and guitarist Adam Kerr, who nearly named the project Beneath Burning Skies before settling on their current name. After adding vocalist Charlie Rolfe, the band grew into a full group rooted in post hardcore, metalcore, and alternative rock, with Rolfe's voice drawing comparisons to Hayley Williams, Amy Lee, and Courtney LaPlante. Their influences stretch from My Chemical Romance and Bring Me the Horizon all the way to Depeche Mode and Duran Duran, which gives you a sense of how wide their sonic palette runs. They built momentum through a string of EPs before signing with Long Branch Records in 2020 and releasing their debut full length Within Each Lies The Other in 2021. Their second album Ultraviolet followed in 2023 and earned a Best Album of the Year nomination from Metal Hammer. The band has faced real heartbreak along the way too, losing drummer Jamie Gowers in August 2024. They kept moving, touring across the UK and Europe with Bury Tomorrow late in 2024, and in June 2025 signed with Century Media Records and dropped the new single Set in Flow. A third album, Did You Ask to Be Set Free?, is on the way.
