About

Before she was a pop star, Ashley Tisdale was doing over a hundred national TV commercials and performing as Cosette in Les Misérables at age eight, after apparently just one singing lesson. The New Jersey native hit her stride with Disney Channel, playing Maddie Fitzpatrick in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and then landing the role that really made her a household name: the delightfully villainous Sharpay Evans in the High School Musical franchise. That film series was a genuine phenomenon, and its soundtrack moved more than three million copies in the US alone. The acting success opened the door to a music career, and her debut album Headstrong came out on Warner Bros. Records and earned a gold certification from the RIAA. A second album, Guilty Pleasure, followed in 2009 with a harder rock edge, though it did not match its predecessor commercially. After a decade away from recording, Tisdale came back with Symptoms in 2019, preceded by the singles Voices in My Head and Love Me and Let Me Go. She has kept busy on screen too, voicing Candace Flynn in Phineas and Ferb, starring in Carol's Second Act, and even leading an interactive horror video game, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes.
