About
Black Stone Cherry are a hard rock band out of Edmonton, Kentucky, and they wear their southern roots proudly across eight studio albums packed with riff heavy grooves and bluesy swagger. Drummer John Fred Young is the son of Kentucky Headhunters guitarist Richard Young, and the band actually took over the Headhunters' practice house when they started out, which tells you everything about the musical DNA running through their sound. Their lineup of Chris Robertson on vocals and guitar, Ben Wells on guitar, Steve Jewell on bass, and Young has stayed remarkably tight over the years. They built a serious following on both sides of the Atlantic, supporting Def Leppard, Whitesnake, and Nickelback before headlining their own sold out UK tours. Magic Mountain hit number five on the UK albums chart in 2014, and Kentucky followed it up by topping the Billboard Hard Rock albums chart in 2016. Their most recent album, Screamin' at the Sky, landed in 2023, showing no signs of slowing down.
