About

Also known as: Blake Tollison Shelton

Thirty number one singles is a wild stat for any artist, but Blake Shelton made it look almost routine over a career stretching from his 2001 debut single "Austin" through to his 2025 album For Recreational Use Only. Seventeen of those chart toppers came consecutively, breaking a record in the Country Airplay chart's history. His sound sits squarely in country and country pop territory, and songs like "God's Country" and "God Gave Me You" have become fixtures of the genre. He picked up nine Grammy nominations along the way, including two for Best Country Album. Outside of recording, Shelton spent over a decade as a coach on NBC's The Voice, running from 2011 to 2023 across 23 seasons, and his teams won in nine of them. His duet with Gwen Stefani, "Nobody But You", crossed over into the mainstream and felt like a genuine moment rather than a stunt. In 2024 he parted ways with Warner Music Nashville and signed with BBR Music Group, so there is clearly still plenty of road ahead.
