About

Also known as: Brooks and Dunn

Brooks & Dunn spent twenty years as one of country music's most dominant duos, racking up a staggering run of number one hits right out of the gate. Their 1991 debut album Brand New Man produced four chart toppers, and they went on to win the Country Music Association's Vocal Duo Award almost every single year between 1992 and 2006, making them the most successful country duo ever. Their sound ranged across the whole spectrum of modern country, from the gospel tinged "Believe" to the line dance staple "Boot Scootin' Boogie", which helped spark a nationwide line dance craze in the mid 90s. Ronnie Dunn handled most of the lead vocal duties on singles, while Kix Brooks wrote prolifically and occasionally stepped up to the mic himself, most notably on "You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone". After announcing a breakup in 2009, the pair reunited in 2014 and later joined forces with Reba McEntire for a Las Vegas residency run. In 2019 they were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, a fitting cap on a catalog that includes some of the most recognisable songs in contemporary country.
