Calyx & TeeBee are a European drum and bass duo built around producer Larry Cons, who first got into music as the guitarist for a jazz funk band called Octane before co founding Calyx with drummer Chris Rush after the two met at Oxford Brookes University. When Rush left to pursue a non musical career around 2000, Cons kept the project alive solo, racking up releases on Moving Shadow, Metalheadz and Renegade Hardware, even landing tracks in Grand Theft Auto III and Midnight Club 3. The Calyx and TeeBee partnership really took shape with the 2007 album Anatomy, put out on their own Momentum Music label, and the duo then signed exclusively to Ram Records, releasing All or Nothing, 1x1 and Plates as a pair. Cons has also been active as a solo artist again in recent years, signing to Critical Music and putting out his first solo material in well over a decade.
