Conquer Divide

From Michigan

About

Conquer Divide started as a concept around 2005 before officially taking shape in Michigan when guitarist and songwriter Kristen Sturgis put together an all female lineup that eventually stretched across the US, the UK, Canada, and Serbia. They hit the ground running with post hardcore and metalcore as their foundation, signing to Artery Recordings in 2014 and releasing their self titled debut album in July 2015 at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas. Producer Joey Sturgis, who has worked with Asking Alexandria and We Came as Romans, helmed the record, which featured guest spots from Denis Stoff and Andrew Oliver of I See Stars. The album landed at number 4 on the iTunes Metal Chart on release day and their single "What's Left Inside" held a spot on Billboard's Top 40 Mainstream Rock chart for over six weeks. After a period of quiet, the band returned in 2020 with "Chemicals", which Alternative Press called a contender for best hard rock and metalcore crossover of the year and which picked up play on SiriusXM Octane. Their 2021 single "Messy" went even further, hitting number one most added on Billboard's Hard Rock Indicator Chart and landing regular rotation on Octane. They later released a version of that song featuring Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens. Now signed to Mascot Records, the band has been working on their second studio album, titled Slow Burn, with recent singles like "Paralyzed" drawing praise from Rock Sound and Metal Hammer.
