About
Also known as: DeeDee Bridgewater, Denise Garrett
Born Denise Eileen Garrett, Dee Dee Bridgewater has built a career that spans jazz singing, songwriting, and stage acting — rare territory for any one performer. She's won three Grammy Awards and a Tony Award, and for 23 years hosted JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater, NPR's syndicated radio show dedicated to jazz. Away from music, she serves as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization.
