About

Dreamville Records is the label J. Cole built from the ground up with his manager Ibrahim Hamad, and over the years it has grown into one of hip hop's most respected creative hubs. The roster reads like a who's who of thoughtful rap: Bas, Cozz, Omen, JID, EarthGang, Lute, and Cole himself all call it home. After years as a more intimate operation, the label signed a distribution deal with Interscope in 2014, giving it the infrastructure to go bigger while keeping its independent spirit intact. The label's compilation series, Revenge of the Dreamers, became its signature statement. The third installment, Revenge of the Dreamers III, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2019 and went on to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. Dreamville also handled the soundtrack for the sports drama Creed III in 2023, showing the label has its eyes on more than just traditional album releases. The label ended its distribution deal with Interscope in July 2025.
