About

Also known as: Francis Edusei, Francis Edusei

Frenna, the Den Haag rapper and singer born Francis Edusei, built his name through SFB (Strictly Family Business), a crew where freestyling in the car eventually turned into club hits. Their debut single Flexen crossed a million YouTube views, and the collective's work on the album New Wave earned them a Popprijs at Noorderslag in 2015. From there Frenna's solo trajectory took off fast: his single Verleden Tijd broke the Dutch single day Spotify streaming record and held the top spot in the Dutch Top 40 for six consecutive weeks. By the end of 2019 his streams had passed 325 million, making him the most streamed Dutch Spotify artist at the time, surpassing The Weeknd and Justin Bieber within the Netherlands. His album Francis won him an Edison Pop Award, and his bilingual album Highest pushed his reach internationally with features from Yemi Alade, King Promise and Young Adz. His 2024 track Pretty Girls cleared 60 million streams and spawned three remixes, including one featuring Dystinct and Davido. The album Pink Summer hit number one in the Dutch Top 100 Albums and went platinum, finishing as the most streamed Dutch album of that year.
