Helemaal Hollands

About

Carlo Rijsdijk and Leo Langstraat had each been going it alone before they joined forces in 1999 to form Helemaal Hollands, a Dutch language singing duo. After dabbling in English language material, they made a full switch to the levenslied genre in 2005, and it paid off fast. Their 2006 hit Dans klein zigeunermeisje broke them through to a wider audience, with Wat een vrouw following up in 2007 to keep the momentum going. Their sound is warm and unpretentious, built around cheerful songs about everyday life as well as covers. You will often find them performing at the Mega Piraten Festijn events, the large outdoor festivals that draw huge crowds of Dutch language music fans across the Netherlands.
