About
IDLES spent eight years building their live reputation before releasing their debut album Brutalism in 2017, a record that landed to widespread critical acclaim. The Bristol post-punk five-piece — Joe Talbot (vocals), Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan (guitars), Adam Devonshire (bass), and Jon Beavis (drums) — broke through to mainstream success with Joy as an Act of Resistance, then hit number one in the UK with Ultra Mono in 2020. Their fifth album Tangk repeated that chart feat in 2024, and in 2025 the band composed the film score for Darren Aronofsky's Caught Stealing.
