ILLIT burst onto the K pop scene with one of the most impressive debut runs in recent memory. The five member Seoul group, formed through the 2023 survival show R U Next? and backed by Hybe's Belift Lab, dropped their first EP Super Real Me in March 2024, led by the single "Magnetic". That track topped South Korea's Circle Digital Chart and made ILLIT the fastest K pop act ever to land on the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at number 91. They also became the first K pop group to enter the UK Official Singles Chart with a debut single. Since then they have kept busy across Korean and Japanese releases. Their third EP Bomb earned Platinum certification in Korea, and they contributed the ending theme to Pokémon Horizons. Their fourth EP Mamihlapinatapai arrived in April 2026, led by the single "It's Me", and a collaboration titled "Iconic by Mistake" followed shortly after. With members Yunah and Minju also appearing on a track by Kylie Cantrall, the group has been steadily building a presence well beyond the Korean market.
