About

Also known as: ジョー・ボナマッサ

Starting his career at age twelve by opening for B.B. King, Joe Bonamassa has grown into a record-holder with 29 No. 1 blues albums — more than any artist in history. Since 2000 he has put out seventeen solo studio albums through his own label J&R Adventures, earning five Grammy nominations along the way. Among fellow guitarists he is particularly noted for his vast collection of vintage guitars and amplifiers. Beyond performing, Bonamassa founded the nonprofit Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation in 2011, and in 2020 launched Keeping the Blues Alive Records to support blues musicians including Dion, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Joanna Connor, and Larry McCray.
