About
Also known as: K.T. Tunstall, Kate Tunstall, Kate Victoria Tunstall, Katie Tunstall, Katie Victoria Tunstall, Kt Tunistall
KT Tunstall first turned heads with a 2004 live solo performance of 'Black Horse and the Cherry Tree' on Later... with Jools Holland, looping and layering the track on the spot in a way that made the moment iconic. Her debut album Eye to the Telescope — its title drawn from childhood visits to her father's physics lab at the University of St Andrews — went on to sell over five million copies internationally and ranked as the 51st best-selling album of the 2000s in the UK. 'Suddenly I See' earned an Ivor Novello Award, featured in The Devil Wears Prada, and was picked up as a campaign song for Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential run. Tunstall has kept a steady output since, releasing a trilogy of albums between 2016 and 2022 and teaming up with Suzi Quatro for the collaborative record Face to Face in 2023. Total career record sales are estimated at seven million.
