About
Also known as: The Lovell Sisters
Led by sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, Larkin Poe grew out of the Lovell Sisters, an acoustic trio the pair formed with their older sister Jessica in 2005. When that group disbanded in 2010, the two regrouped under the name Larkin Poe — taken from their great-great-great-great-grandfather, a cousin of Edgar Allan Poe. Rooted in the blues rock tradition, the band is known for heavy electric guitar riffs, steel guitar, and the kind of southern harmonies that draw comparisons to the Allman Brothers. After signing with RH Music in 2013 and releasing their debut album Kin in 2014, the band built a wider profile through their work with producer T Bone Burnett on Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes and appearances at Glastonbury, where The Observer voted them Best Discovery of 2014. Their 2022 album Blood Harmony earned them the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
