About

Also known as: Rodrigo Torres De La Garza

Growing up in Houston after moving from Monterrey, Rodrigo Torres de la Garza built his ear for music by reverse engineering tracks from Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, and Avicii on a battered laptop running a 97 version of Windows 95. He was thirteen at the time. His stage name Nsqk came from a throwaway joke on Instagram, a friend's ironic suggestion riffing on his username and the naming conventions of ASAP Mob. His debut EP Botánica dropped in 2020 on Honey Records, blending pop, rap, R&B, and EDM into something hard to pin down. His 2022 album Roy opened the festival circuit for him, landing him spots at Ceremonia and Lollapalooza Chile. Then in 2024 he co wrote and appeared on a track for Puerto Rican rapper Álvaro Díaz, and followed it with his debut mixtape ATP, which featured Mexican creator El Mariana in interlude skits. Rolling Stone ranked it at number 82 on their list of the 100 best albums of 2024, and Billboard called it one of the best Latin rising act releases of the year.
