About

Also known as: Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, PSB, Petshop Boys, The Pet Shop Boys, ペット・ショップ・ボーイズ

Keyboardist Chris Lowe and vocalist Neil Tennant have spent over four decades proving that a duo can outsell almost everyone. Pet Shop Boys have moved more than 100 million records worldwide and were named the most successful duo in UK music history in the 1999 Guinness Book of Records. Their run of UK chart hits includes four number-ones — "West End Girls" (which also topped the US Billboard Hot 100), "It's a Sin", a synth-pop take on "Always on My Mind", and "Heart" — plus a duet with Dusty Springfield on "What Have I Done to Deserve This?" and a cover of "Go West". On the US dance chart they racked up 11 number-ones, enough for Billboard to rank them the top dance duo or group since the Hot Dance Club Play chart began. Three Brit Awards, an Outstanding Contribution to Music honour in 2009, NME's Godlike Genius Award in 2017, and the MTV Europe Music Awards Pop Pioneers prize in 2024 round out a career that also helped define the Second British Invasion.
