About

Real Friends have been carving out their corner of the pop punk and emo world since forming in Tinley Park, Illinois, and the band's sound draws comparisons to American Football gone full pop punk. They built momentum through a string of EPs before landing on Fearless Records and dropping their debut album, Maybe This Place Is the Same and We're Just Changing, in 2014. It charted at number 24 on the Billboard 200 and put them on the Vans Warped Tour stage. After three albums with founding vocalist Dan Lambton, the band parted ways with him in early 2020 and eventually brought in Cody Muraro, formerly of Youth Fountain and Parting Ways. The lineup change also meant a new label home with Pure Noise Records. In 2024 they went independent under their own imprint Midwest Trash and released Blue Hour, their fourth studio album and the first full record with Muraro on vocals.
