Ronnie D'Addario

From Manhattan

About

Ronnie D'Addario is a musician and songwriter from Manhattan with a résumé that stretches back to performing alongside Irish folk legend Tommy Makem. He raised his two sons, Brian and Michael, in a household so thoroughly steeped in music that the boys developed a full blown Beatles obsession before they were even old enough to appreciate it properly. That upbringing paid off, since Brian and Michael went on to form The Lemon Twigs, one of the more celebrated rock acts to emerge from Long Island in recent years. Ronnie is far from a background figure in his sons' story. On the band's ambitious second album Go to School, a rock musical about a chimpanzee raised as a human, he contributed vocals and also served as assistant sound engineer during the recording sessions, which took place in a studio built beneath the family home. His wife Susan Hall sang on the album too, making it something of a genuine family affair.
