ACU is a politically engaged cultural centre in central Utrecht that originated as a squatted building in the 1980s. It hosts concerts on Wednesday and Friday nights featuring punk, hardcore, metal, and other genres, alongside weekly film screenings, jam sessions, and themed discos. The venue operates entirely through volunteer effort and has served as a launching point for numerous bands now playing larger Utrecht venues. The space also includes a political cafe and a volunteer run kitchen offering affordable vegan meals.
