Theater Vrijburcht is the only professionally equipped theater on Amsterdam's IJburg island, a 50 seat music theater located by the water. Founded and run entirely by volunteers from the residential community, it presents independent, authentic programming tailored to the local area's residents. The venue hosts weekly Friday films, monthly children's and youth screenings, coffee concerts on varying Sunday mornings, Sunday afternoon children's performances, and evening theater shows and cabaret.
