Over

De Kleine Komedie is an Amsterdam theater with roots dating to the 19th century as Theatre Français sur l'Erwtemarkt, which attracted notable visitors including King William I and Napoleon. The venue reopened in 1947 under its current name and became known for hosting Dutch comedians and performers including Wim Kan and Toon Hermans. After closure in 1973, the theater was renovated with private funds and reopened in 1978, developing into a platform for independent and subsidized productions.
