The Ruïne van Brederode are the remains of Kasteel Brederode near Santpoort Zuid, founded in the second half of the 13th century by Willem I van Brederode. The castle was part of the lordship of Brederode, granted to the lords of Brederode by the count of Holland. The site descends from the lords of Teylingen, who were related to the counts of Holland.
