Beatrice Rana has a way of making the piano feel like a force of nature. The Italian pianist built her reputation through fiercely committed performances of Bach, Chopin, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky, and her recordings on Warner Classics have drawn serious attention since her mid twenties. Winning the Gramophone Young Artist of the Year in 2017 put a stamp on what listeners already sensed: this is someone playing at a completely different level.
