About
Citizen Zero built their reputation in the Detroit hard rock scene after forming in Rochester Hills in 2010, and their early work caught serious attention when they recorded their debut EP at Rustbelt Studios with Al Sutton, the engineer behind Kid Rock's records. Tragedy struck during the making of their second EP, Life Explodes, when guitarist Matt Dudley passed away, and the band brought in Sammy Boller to carry the project forward. Their 2013 Detroit Music Award for Outstanding Rock/Pop Recording confirmed they were a real force locally. The big breakthrough came in 2016 when they signed to Wind Up Records and dropped their debut album State of Mind, with the single "Go (Let Me Save You)" climbing to number 17 on the mainstream rock chart.
