COIN spent over a decade crafting a brand of Nashville pop rock that felt bigger than its origins, moving from scrappy early EPs to a proper major label debut in 2015 with the self titled album produced by Jay Joyce. The single "Run" put them on the radar, but it was "Talk Too Much" from the 2017 follow up How Will You Know If You Never Try that really stuck, becoming their first entry on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart and earning them a genuine fanbase well beyond Tennessee. They kept pushing the sound forward through the 2020 album Dreamland and then the ambitious Rainbow Mixtape project, a 12 song collection spread across three EPs exploring different sonic colors. Their fourth album Uncanny Valley arrived in 2022, and their largest ever show came that same year at MGM Music Hall at Fenway. A fifth album, I'm Not Afraid of Music Anymore, dropped in September 2024, but the band disbanded in January 2025 following misconduct allegations against two of its members.
