About

Also known as: Hans Lafaille

Hans la Faille is a Dutch drummer whose name is most closely tied to Cuby and the Blizzards, the pioneering Dutch blues rock band. He joined the group in 1969 alongside bassist Herman Deinum, a friendship that would shape decades of his career. Together they formed the rhythm section that kept the Blizzards going through some of their most active years, and when the band reunited in 1996, la Faille was back behind the kit. He also played on the Rob Hoeke and Hein van der Gaag album Fingerprints in 1975, and passed through groups including Cyril and Sweet d'Buster during the years between Blizzards lineups. After Harry Muskee died in 2011 and the band folded, la Faille launched his own outfit, Hans la Faille's Showbizz Bluesband, and wrote a book about his musical life titled Showbizz Blues. In 2019 he put together Still Believe, reuniting once more with Deinum, guitarist Erwin Java and saxophonist Bertus Borgers.
