About
Jessia, the Canadian singer songwriter born Jessika Harling, broke through in a very modern way: she posted "I'm Not Pretty" as a TikTok video in early 2021, it caught fire, and suddenly she had a Republic Records deal and a double platinum certification from Music Canada. The song peaked in the top 25 of the Canadian Hot 100, racked up over 100 million Spotify streams, and even got a remix with Bebe Rexha. Her debut EP How Are You? followed later that year. At the 2022 Juno Awards she took home Breakthrough Artist of the Year, with nominations also coming in for Single of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, and the Fan Choice Award. Her sound sits in the confessional pop space, candid and direct, which is exactly what made that debut single resonate so widely. In 2023 she joined an all star cast on Serena Ryder's charity single "What I Wouldn't Do", raising funds for youth mental health through Kids Help Phone.
