Few punk bands from the former Yugoslavia left as deep a mark as Niet, a hardcore punk outfit from Ljubljana that became one of the defining acts of the Slovenian punk scene. Forming in 1983, they put out their debut record Srečna mladina the following year and built a reputation as one of the most influential groups in the region before calling it a day in 1988. They have since reunited multiple times, with a particularly productive stretch from 2008 to 2017 that saw them release several albums through ZKP RTVS, including Trinajst, Rokovnjači and V bližini ljudi. That run showed they hadn't lost their edge. The band came back again in December 2019, keeping the flame of Slovenian punk well and truly alive across four decades.
