About
Quintron, the performing name of Robert Rolston, is the kind of musician who builds his own instruments and then plays them all at once. Based in New Orleans, he operates as a one man band centered on a custom Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes combo that he has fitted out to look like a car, complete with working headlights and a Louisiana license plate that reads "Quintron". Alongside that rig, he deploys the Drum Buddy, a rotating, light activated analog synthesizer of his own design and manufacture. His wife Miss Pussycat joins him on stage for most shows, adding backup vocals and maracas at their home venue, the Spellcaster Lodge. His song 9th Ward Breakdown, written years before Hurricane Katrina, predicted the human cost of that disaster with unsettling precision.
