Taco Hemingway, the stage name of Filip Szcześniak, is one of the most streamed rappers in Poland and the first Polish artist to hit a billion plays on Spotify. His flow sits in Polish language hip hop and trap, and despite rarely giving interviews or appearing in ads, he built a massive fanbase almost entirely through free downloads and YouTube. Nearly every album he has put out is available for free on his own website, which says a lot about how he operates. His catalogue runs deep, from the EP Trójkąt warszawski that first got people's attention to the joint project Soma 0.5 mg with Quebonafide, which sold over 150,000 copies and became his biggest seller. Tracks like "6 zer", "Deszcz na betonie" and "Tamagotchi" all racked up millions of views fast. He has won the Fryderyk hip hop Album of the Year four times, including three consecutive wins, a record no other rapper in Poland has matched. Notably, he never bothered to collect any of those awards in person.
