Few house duos can claim they remixed both Michael Jackson and Todd Terry, but Rhythm Masters pulled it off. Robert Chetcuti and Steve Mac met in Malta around 1993 and quickly built a reputation as go to remixers, also reworking tracks for INXS, David Morales, Roger Sanchez, and Junior Vasquez. Their 2001 album Disconnect Your Head on Tommy Boy's Silver Label gave them two genuine US club hits: "Ghetto" featuring Joe Watson reached number 10 on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart, and "The Underground" climbed to number 6. After splitting to pursue solo work in the mid 2000s, the pair came back together in 2015 with "20 Year Cycle" and have kept releasing new material since. Their back catalogue is surprisingly deep, with records put out under a string of aliases including Blue Lagoon, RM Project, Dub Masters, and Rhythm Robbers, covering everything from deep house to harder club sounds.
