About
William Pint and Felicia Dale are one of the best known nautical folk acts in the United States, based in Seattle and built around a deep love of sea chanties and maritime music. Pint plays guitar and mandola, while Dale brings the distinctive sound of the hurdy gurdy, and together they have released a string of albums on the Waterbug label, from Hearts of Gold through to Midnight on the Seas. Their reach extends well beyond the American folk circuit: they tour regularly in the UK and have also performed in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Estonia. Pint has roots in the acoustic folk scene going back to the 1970s, when he recorded with the group Silmaril, and Dale has been performing professionally since her teens. Between 1988 and 1991 the duo worked with Canadian performer Tom Lewis, releasing Making Waves together. Their albums have been well received by specialist folk press including Dirty Linen, Sing Out!, and Folk Roots.
