Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, are getting married in early July at Madison Square Garden in New York. That scenario is becoming increasingly likely now that multiple sources have confirmed Stevie Nicks will be present at the ceremony. What's more, according to a source speaking to Rolling Stone, the Fleetwood Mac legend is also set to actually perform on the big day.

The New York Times reported earlier this week that a permit has been filed with the city of New York to close off the streets around Madison Square Garden for an event on July 3. According to the paper, the festivities will kick off a day earlier, on July 2, with an intimate gathering of around a hundred people, followed by a larger party on July 3 that is expected to draw roughly a thousand guests. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to inadvertently confirm the venue and date during a press conference on June 17, when he listed the Taylor Swift wedding alongside the World Cup and America 250 as major events his city would be welcoming that period.

The friendship between Swift and Nicks has been well documented for some time. Swift referred to the rock icon last year as a valuable guide throughout her career. In 2024, the two went out together after a run of Eras Tour concerts in Dublin, ending up at the Hacienda bar. That same evening, Nicks was visibly moved by Swift's performance, particularly during the Midnights track You're On Your Own, Kid. Swift also dedicated the live debut of Clara Bow, from the album The Tortured Poets Department, to Nicks at that same concert. The Fleetwood Mac singer had previously thanked Swift for that song, saying it captured exactly how she had experienced the death of Christine McVie.

An additional clue being pointed to is a notable detail from last weekend: Swift was spotted at the Eras Tour in New York wearing a shirt that simply read Stevie Nicks, which fans immediately interpreted as a hint about the wedding. She was joined by HAIM sisters Alana and Danielle, with whom she had also spent an overnight nine hour recording session earlier that week at Electric Lady Studios in New York.

For Dutch Swifties and music lovers, this news illustrates how the worlds of pop music and Americana continue to intertwine. The possible combination of Swift and Nicks at a private ceremony is a remarkable moment that highlights the cross generational bond between the two artists. Whether any recording will actually be made public remains unknown for now, as the wedding plans have otherwise been kept carefully under wraps.
