SJU Jazzpodium in Utrecht has served as the center for jazz and improvised music in the central Netherlands since 1977, operating under the Stichting Jazz en Geïmproviseerde Muziek Utrecht. The venue hosts approximately 240 events annually, including concerts, workshops, sessions, and a series called Music: World Series. The organization functions as both a concert venue and educational platform, with a laboratory role for developing and trying out new work in contemporary jazz and improvised music.
