Bökkers (NL)

Over

Ook bekend als: Bokkers

Bokkers is a group from Overijssel with roots in hollands and nederpop, and they have built a string of theatrical productions that draw on the Nedersaksisch language and culture of their region. Their shows include Thuus he'j ook niks te lachen, Nachtbrakers, and Kats de weg kwiet, each one adding to a growing body of work that blends music with theatre. The title of their production Hier! captures something typical of their approach: a single, plain word that in Nedersaksisch carries a whole range of meanings, from a greeting to an invitation to a statement of presence. It is the kind of layered simplicity that runs through what they do.
