Over
Ook bekend als: Squad Massi, سعاد ماسي
Souad Massi moves between folk, rock and poetry, threading together music that is at once intimate and politically charged. The Franco Algerian artist has a quality that sets her apart: her soft, expressive voice placed against themes of weight and urgency, vulnerability sitting alongside anger and defiance. On her album Zagate she digs into pain, revolt and hope without losing the tenderness that runs through her work. It is a record that feels bolder and more direct than her earlier output, yet still unmistakably hers. Massi treats poetry as a form of resistance, turning each song into a conversation between the personal and the broader world, the voice of a spirit that is both free and deeply connected to what is happening around her.
