Appeltaartconcert

Cultureel Centrum Cascade is the main cultural building of Hendrik Ido Ambacht, a town in the Drechtsteden area between Rotterdam and Dordrecht. It draws visitors from the town itself and the surrounding region, and it brings several functions under one roof. The library and the theater are both housed in the building, which makes it as much a daily meeting place as a place for an evening out. The building has a big hall and a small hall, and the sources point to music programs in both. That split matters for the kind of nights on offer: the larger room suits touring acts and bigger productions, while the smaller one fits more intimate shows. Cascade is also known locally under the name Huis van Ambacht, and it appears in listings alongside other regional stages such as IDEA Theatre in Dordrecht, which gives a sense of the circuit it belongs to. Concert listings show that Cascade is a regular stop for Dutch touring artists. Ed Struijlaart, for example, has been documented as playing the centre, and it has also appeared on tour schedules for drumming events such as the Gathering of Drummers, where a second day was held in Hendrik Ido Ambacht. Dance and theater are part of the mix too, with productions like Dus Dans connected to the venue. The architecture firm TenBrasWestinga lists Cascade among its projects, describing it as a place for hundreds of visitors from the town and its surroundings, which fits its role as a community venue first and a regional music stage second.
