Bosch in Arnhem, located on the Apeldoornseweg, has operated under two names over the years: the space began as Café Bosch before transitioning into Kultuurhuis Bosch, a shift that reflects its evolution from a straightforward café setting into something more deliberately programmed as a cultural venue. That combination of bar and live music space gives it a particular character, intimate and unpretentious, that suits the alternative and rock acts it has consistently drawn since at least the early 2000s. The programming at Kultuurhuis Bosch leans toward Dutch and international alternative rock and indie acts, with a documented track record stretching from 2003 through to 2024. Early shows included two separate appearances by Dutch indie rock band Bettie Serveert, in December 2003 and again in February 2007, alongside a 2007 date with British post punk act Bromheads Jacket. In October 2008, Belgian rock band Triggerfinger shared a bill with De Staat, a Dutch group that would go on to considerably wider recognition. The folk metal band Heidevolk, who formed in Arnhem itself, played here in January 2009, making it a local homecoming of sorts. Other artists documented at the venue include De Kift, Zea, and Robotobibok, pointing to a taste for the eclectic and experimental within that broader rock and alternative umbrella.
