Candlelight: Ed Sheeran Meets Coldplay

Hotel Nassau is a luxury hotel occupying a former monastery complex on Nieuwstraat, one of the oldest streets in Breda, already documented on maps from 1350. The building has a layered past: three noble townhouses once stood here, associated with the influential Bruheze family and closely tied to nearby Breda Castle, while Breda's first city wall, completed in 1410, ran directly behind the site. After years of neglect, the monastery underwent extensive restoration and reopened on 2 May 2016 as a hotel, now part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. The ensemble of structures on the site is classified as a collection of national monuments, and the interiors carry visible traces of that long history, where austere religious architecture meets considered modern design. As a concert and event venue, Hotel Nassau draws on the character of its grand historic interiors. The combination of old monastic architecture and contemporary finishing gives performances here a setting that few purpose built concert halls can replicate. The Amsterdam band Jungle By Night, known for its dense Afrobeat and funk sound, played the venue in late 2025, illustrating the kind of act that finds a natural home in a space with this much physical presence. The hotel complex is situated in the center of Breda, roughly a kilometer from the main railway station, making it straightforwardly accessible for concertgoers coming from across the region.
