Het Diekhuus is a cultural centre in Middelharnis, on Goeree Overflakkee in the province of South Holland. It sits at Beneden Zandpad 7 and serves as one of the main places on the island for live performance. The venue has been referred to as CC Het Diekhuus, with a director and programmer on staff, which points to a house with its own curated programme rather than a simple rental hall. The programme covers a wide range. Listings show it hosting Dutch cabaret and song evenings, tribute shows such as Michael Jackson themed productions, and rock and roll acts. The Wieners, a rock'n'roll band, list it among the venues they have played. The venue also works as a film house, and its filmhuis series has screened concert films such as EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert. On the classical side, a programmer from the centre has publicly praised the pairing of classical music and jazz in StarkLinnemann's work, and the Dutch contemporary music publisher Donemus has listed Het Diekhuus among the Middelharnis venues connected to its events, so new and art music finds a place there too. For many visitors, it is the obvious address on the island when they want a night out beyond what a mainland city offers. Travel listings single it out as a draw for people interested in what is currently on in Middelharnis. The sources do not give details on room sizes or seating, so what can be said with confidence is its role: a regional stage that mixes popular entertainment, film and more adventurous music in a town of the Delta region.
