Erik Neimeijer — Scheppingsdrang

Theater Zinin is a theater in Nijverdal, a town in the municipality of Hellendoorn in the eastern Netherlands. It works mainly as a stage for live performance, and its programme mixes theater with a steady stream of concerts. The listings that mention it show a venue that leans toward accessible, crowd friendly music rather than niche or experimental acts. The concert calendar gives a good sense of the range. Dutch language shows sit alongside tribute and cover productions, such as Van Eigen Bodem, a night of hits from the Netherlands, and The Story of BZN, a tour built around the songs of the well known Dutch band. Pop acts like 3JS, who sing in Dutch, have booked dates here, and so have the Girls on Fire shows. Singer songwriters and cabaret flavoured musicians also appear, among them Lucas Hamming, who played the hall in December 2022. A tribute show billed as Her Majesty, dedicated to Neil Young and Crazy Horse, has also been listed, which shows that rock oriented programming finds a place alongside the Dutch pop material. Because Zinin is a seated theater rather than a standing club, it suits music that rewards close listening and sing alongs from a comfortable seat, and it draws audiences from Nijverdal and the wider Twente and Salland region. Touring productions that move through the Dutch theater circuit regularly stop here, which means a single season can cover everything from nostalgic hit parades to Dutch language pop and band tributes under one roof.
