DOK6 is a theater and event venue in Panningen, a town in the Dutch province of Limburg. It functions as the local home for live performance, and its programming reaches beyond classical theater into concerts and touring shows. Technical operations are handled by an in house team, with a head of technology overseeing the stage side of the building. The room draws a mix of acts that tells you something about its role in the region. Country and roots musicians have played there, among them the Irish band The Kilkennys, whose appearance at DOK6 is documented on setlist.fm, and a Netherlands tour that included a night at DOK6 Theater in Panningen. Local interest in country music shows up elsewhere too, as fans in town have publicly looked forward to seeing Waylon at DOK6. Circus Louis Knie has also listed the venue as a stop on a Dutch tour, alongside other theaters across the country, which points to a room able to host larger touring productions as well as band shows. Concert history for the venue is kept by archive sites that log past performances, so visiting artists and their setlists can be traced after the fact. That makes DOK6 a place where small and mid sized touring acts, particularly those on multi date Netherlands or European runs, slot a Limburg date into their schedules. For anyone based in the south of the country, it offers a seated theater setting for live music without needing to travel to a larger city.
