Nieuwe Luxor Theater opened in April 2001 at the foot of the Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam and hosts musicals, musical theater, cabaret, theatrical concerts, opera, and dance productions in its approximately 1500 seat capacity. The venue stages extended series of large scale productions. The older Luxor Theater on Kruiskade, built in 1917 with around 900 seats, continues to operate alongside it, programming cabaret, theatrical concerts, smaller musical productions, theater and youth performances, and serves as an important mid sized venue in the city center.
