Van Zantenhal, located at IJweg 1415 in Nieuw Vennep, is a sizeable events and concert hall with a floor space of 5,000 square metres. The building dates from the 1990s and its layout includes a dedicated entrance hall, toilets, a smoking area and a cloakroom, giving it the practical infrastructure of a venue designed to handle large crowds comfortably. It sits within the broader Haarlemmermeer municipality, a part of the Netherlands not typically associated with a dense live music scene, which makes the hall something of a local anchor for larger entertainment events. In terms of programming, the venue has drawn acts from across the classic rock, blues rock and Dutch pop worlds. Among the more notable concerts on record are two appearances by Golden Earring, the long running Dutch rock band, who played the hall in March 2007 and again in October 2008. Those shows reflect the kind of established, catalogue driven acts that have found a home here, catering to audiences looking for familiar guitar oriented music in a spacious regional setting rather than an intimate city club. The hall is also referred to as Evenementenhal Van Zanten and has been used for a broader range of events beyond concerts, positioning it as a general purpose events space for the Nieuw Vennep area. Its scale, somewhere between a club and a full arena, suits touring acts that have outgrown smaller theatres but do not fill the biggest arenas in Amsterdam or Rotterdam, giving the region a stop on routes that might otherwise skip the Haarlemmermeer entirely.
