About
Also known as: عبير نعمة
Abeer Nehme is one of those rare voices that refuses to stay in one lane. The Lebanese singer and qanun player moves fluidly between traditional Tarab, Maronite and Byzantine sacred music, Rahbani theatrical repertoire, and contemporary Arabic pop, earning her the label "the all styles specialist". She graduated top of her class in oriental singing from Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, and that academic grounding shows in the depth and precision she brings to every genre she touches. Her discography spans sacred choral works, including a full album of Syriac Orthodox chants recorded with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, through to chart topping modern releases like "Bala Ma Nhess", a collaboration with songwriter Nabil Khoury and producer Sleiman Damien. She has shared stages with international philharmonic orchestras, appeared alongside Fairuz at the Baalbeck International Festival, and recorded the entire soundtrack for Philippe Aractingi's film Al Bosta. Recent releases like "Bi Saraha" and "Baadni Bhebak" show her very much still at work.
