About
Vancouver's ACTORS have been carving out a seriously compelling corner of the post punk and coldwave world since 2012, when Jason Corbett put the band together after years of playing in Vancouver acts across wildly different genres. The group, rounded out by Shannon Hemmett on keyboards, Kendall Wooding on bass, and Adam Fink on drums, built their reputation through a string of carefully crafted singles before dropping their debut album It Will Come To You in 2018. Influences like Gary Numan, Roxy Music, and David Bowie bubble through their sound, and Corbett writes, records, mixes, and masters everything at his own studio, Jacknife Sound. Beyond the band, Corbett has kept busy as a composer, contributing music to the Canadian comedy series Letterkenny and scoring the 2017 horror comedy Dead Shack. Their second album, Acts of Worship, followed in 2021, showing the band had no intention of standing still. If you are into dark, synth driven post punk with real production muscle behind it, ACTORS are well worth your time.
